Project Description:
The aim of the project was to record seabird species along transect lines around the coast of Cyprus on a seasonal basis. MER was contracted by  to provide two boats and skipper services for this project. Three surveys per year (six in total) were conducted by two teams working in parallel and on different vessels, to record migratory and nesting marine birds of Cyprus. Each survey lasted about a week, covering up to 800 nm of transect lines per survey and extending up to 30 nm offshore.

Complementary data such as floating marine litter, sea turtle and marine mammal sightings were recorded by MER staff.
