Τhe seagrass Halophila stipulacea (Forsskål) Ascherson, 1867 is a tropical species that introduced in the eastern #Mediterranean about 100 years ago. Τhe last years, we observed an increased presence of the species around the island. Does it favoured by the #climate_change or did the species #adapted better to the Mediterranean conditions? Today, Marine and Environmental Research – MER Lab Ltd. & partners visited our monitoring stations and collected seasonal data – in an effort to understand the differences between the alien H. stipulacea in the #Mediterranean and the native H. stipulacea in the #Red_Sea.
